Our Courses
The pre-teen and teenage years can be exciting but challenging times for you and your child.
You are not alone in feeling daunted by the difference between your own experiences as a teenager and those that your child is now encountering.
Our courses focus on the times in children's lives when they transition between different stages of education and responsibility.
Whether that be from primary to secondary school, gaining independence as teenagers,
or learning how to make the most of their education as they grow up.
We ensure our resources and activities are relevant and up-to-date by involving previous attendees who form part of the session development team and attend sessions to add their own lived experiences where appropriate
What makes us unique is that we offer parents and their children the opportunity to work together, helping them to better understand each other and collaborate to overcome the challenges they face. We also ensure that the sessions are fit for purpose by putting recent alumni front and centre of the session development team using their knowledge and lived-experience as a foundation for the materials within each session.
Sessions are fun, engaging and informative and use gamification techniques as a tool for learning. During each session you and your child will be earning tokens and certificates from activities such as quizzes, and group participation exercises. The aim of which is to build a community of support as you learn with your child.
Each of our courses has been created and continually updated to empower you to support your child. By nurturing your relationship together we provide a unique opportunity to explore the journey towards independence together.
We currently offer four courses that we run with both pupils and their parents/carers:
Transition to Secondary
Moving from Primary to Secondary school can be a daunting experience for you and your child. Our fun and interactive sessions help to ease the transition by exploring important topics such as independent travel, handling homework and navigating the new school timetable.
Bridging the Gap
Today’s teenagers can face a much tougher journey to independence than their parents did. This course focuses on the social, emotional, and financial aspects of growing up and how parents and their children can learn together to face these challenges.
Ambition 2 Success
School can be tough, especially if you can’t see how it will benefit you in later life. This course brings parents and pupils together to help them get back onto a positive trajectory. Our personal approach helps them explore solutions to common challenges together and start their journey towards success.
Study Money-Wise
Going off to university/college is very exciting but learning to budget and coping with life’s challenges away from home is a big step. This new support will help 6th formers and their parents/carers work together to build the skills necessary, ready for adult life.
Our sessions are held in West London schools and other venues that are open to all families.
